Far Away

This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Mark 7:6

The religious leaders of Jesus’ day had come up with ways of disobeying God’s Word. They established traditions and rituals that contradicted the scriptures. At the same time they still outwardly went through the motions of worship. Yet Jesus could see beyond the surface of their pragmatism and pointed to a serious problem. They said the right things, but they lived the wrong life. They professed to be near to God, but in reality they were far from God. Perhaps today it seems as though your simply going through the motions in your Christian life. Maybe you have even drifted from the Lord. You wouldn’t deny him verbally but your life denies Him practically. It’s not too late to repent and return to the Lord today. Draw near to Him once again with a pure heart. He is waiting for you with arms open wide. You are loved by God.
